In the last episode, 24 of season 4, one of the whiteboards of the Sheldon and Leonard apartment is displaying the famous plot of the CDF: Wjj bump, a possible signal of new physics at Tevatron which is now claimed to be at 4.1-sigma
Could be nice to check what is the particle being used by Sheldon to explain the anomaly. However, I was unable to find one scene with this (Mail to admin AT gfif.udea.edu.co, if any suggestion). This was my best screenshot about: We can see the formula for the transverse W mass. Check here for further details |
The quoted formula is (For example Akula et al. Phys Lett B 699, 377, 2011):
$$m_T(W)=\sqrt{2p_T(W)\; /\hspace{-6pt}E_T(1-\cos(\Delta\phi(W,\; /\hspace{-6pt}E_T)))}$$
